All Things Mascara

Hey Friends! Friday has finally arrived, looking forward to doing absolutely nothing this weekend. Anyone love just being able to stay home, Netflix, cuddle, and eat unhealthy snacks all weekend?! I am so excited to share with you today's post All Things Mascara. I can have an entire face of makeup on but if I’m not wearing my mascara I’m just not complete. My game face absolutely includes the Haute/ Naughty Mascara by MAC Cosmetics I'm wearing in the photos, a product that I can’t go without, lashes give me life!
MY GO TO MASCARAS:
Mally More Is More:
  • *Length & Definition*
  • The combination of natural waxes and carefully chosen powders gives lashes an instant boost
  • Everyone will think you’re wearing fake lashes
  • $20.00
  • Purchase from Ulta, Khols, Mally Beauty

Maybelline Lash Sensational:
  • *Fullness & Curl*
  • gives you length, doesn't cluster, or flake, and hold your curl for hours
  • affordable alternative to, Benefit's "They're Real"
  • $8.00
  • Purchase from Ulta, or any drug store

Haute/Naughty MAC:
  • *All-in-one*
  • Flawlessness in a bottle. Long wearing, doesn't run, doesn't smear and gives your lashes love.
  • I use the naughty brush then the nice brush to separate and shape and I love it.
  • The nice brush is extraordinary for base lashes.
  • Two-in-one brushes, one for length and other for volume paring the perfect combo
  • $24.00
  • Purchase at any MAC distributor

L'Oréal Paris Voluminous Million Lashes:
  • *Volume & Definition*
  • Glides on easily, last throughout the day, while thickening and dividing each lash for a clump free look
  • $8.00
  • Purchase at any drug store

 STEPS TO APPLYING MASCARA:
  • When using mascara for the first time wipe the brush with a paper towel to take off excess product, I always like using a dryer brush to build volume
  • Wiggle wand at the base of lashes to help separate, this helps separate the lashes to prevent the end from sticking together
  • Sweep wand on the back side of your lashes, this is really going to enhance the length
  • REPEAT on bottom lashes
  • I normally just repeat this process until my lashes are as big as I want

MASCARA TIPS 101:
  •  Loosen hardened mascara by placing the tube in a cup of hot water for a minute or two. The liquid will fall to the bottom where you can reach it with the wand.
  • When applying your mascara to top lashes look down at a mirror instead of looking up, to prevent mascara on your top eyelid.
  • Look up at a mirror when applying to your bottom lashes to prevent mascara on your bottom eyelid
  • If you start to notice your mascara is getting clumpy, add a few drops of Visine.
  • One Drop of Lavender Oil extends life of mascara, kills mites and bacteria, promotes lash growth, strengthens your lashes

Thanks so much for taking time out of your day to stop by, take with you a beauty tip that will help build confidence in your makeup routine. Always remember Lashes make everything better, I hope you feel beautiful today. Can’t wait to share May with you and all the celebrations, starting next week with Cinco De Mayo.
XOXO- Katherine

Engagment Story

Calvin and I landed in San Diego, California Wednesday evening and headed straight to our destination in La Jolla, a small tourist town right outside of San Diego. I was so ready to go down to the beach and relax but Calvin insisted that we get ready for dinner and then go to the beach. I asked Calvin what should I wear something casual or dressy he says he’s going to dress casual so I’m thinking dinner is nothing fancy and we are just going to go down to the beach and watch the sunset before dinner. We get down to the “spot” right off the La Jolla cove, this view is amazing!! I see stairs and immediately want to go down but Calvin insisted again that we should go where there is less people, so he starts walking towards people?? Half way to the bridge where he wants to go he then stops and says wait lets go back so there we go turning around going down to the same stairs I had originally said lets go to. Little did I know that he was trying to figure out the spot the p...

Grateful for Twenty-Three

Good Morning Loves! Today's my BIRTHDAY, I am turning 23 years old the oldest I've ever been! Seem like now-a-days the years just keep going by faster, but I am thankful to have lived another one. This morning I am celebrating with my family and three banana pancakes, from the best granny. To continue the celebration Calvin and I are headed to San Antonio this weekend. I am so excited to have a fulfilled weekend with him doing some of my favorite things. Thursday we plan on going out on the town for a little dancing, Friday we are floating the river, and Saturday calls for a relaxing spa day.  This shoot has to be one of my favorites, we took these pictures at a local Ice Cream Shop Holly Hops. What's a better way to celebrate your birthday than with some cake batter ice cream?! SOO DELICIOUS! Todays outfit is so fun and bright. Who else loves wearing yellow in the summer? Brings out your tan, even if you don't have one. LOL Hoping to add some color to me t...

Home Decor

JANUARY HOME DECOR   Hola F riends! Happy Friday!! Today I am sharing a few home décor items that I have decorated the house with lately.. starting with the fact that everything I have linked is pretty much under $20! Anyone else feel like their house looks so empty without Christmas décor everywhere?! In our house we basically have two living rooms, one we use as a tv room and the other has been completely empty until now. Calvin got me couches for Christmas and I put our Christmas tree up in there this year so its slowly starting to look like a 'living room'. Living in a small town there are not many options to shop home décor. Believe it or not I get most of my home décor from our store in Fort Stockton, TX Ace Home Center and Dollar General! You'd be so surprised on what you can find and how affordable it is. Everything I have pictured is linked and you can shop instantly through this page. I'm still slowly adding more décor to our front living room so stay tu...
