Every year for Easter I always wear a dress but this year I seriously had no time to find anything so I decided to go with something a little more simple. I wore a bright Yellow Colored Blouse, light Pink Jeggings and Multi-Colored Sandals to match.
(I was not able to find the exact link to my shoes and shirt but I linked some similar looks)
In my blog you will find me sharing ALOT about my family, they are my backbone for everything that I do and I am so beyond blessed to call them mine. So I thought for my first post I would introduce some of them to y'all.
From left to right: Ernie (baby), my youngest brother, teenage pain in the rear. Kaci (sister), she's the red head and my go to for anything and everything. Selah, she gave birth to my beautiful niece and I could not be more thankful for her, she fits perfectly in our family. Nate (brother), my older brother of the two, I would say he's the actual "baby" in the family, softhearted as you call it. My Parents, posted in the next few pictures. I don't know what else to say rather than they are my SUPER parents as I call them. I don't know how they do it raising all six of us but they manage it, because of that I am forever grateful.
Last but definitely not least, my thirteen month old niece Aziah La'Rae. You will be seeing her featured frequently in my post, she is my favorite to take pictures of. She has the most outgoing personality and can always brighten my day, from her chunky rolls, curly hair, and her sweet yell. Yes I mean yell, she doesn't always talk but yells most of the time and when you ask her to say "cheese" she opens her mouth and yells as you can see in the photo below. In such a short amount of time she has made our family that much sweeter.
Easter Sunday is a time of love and laughter with the family celebrating the life that Jesus gave to us. I thank God each and everyday for giving his only son to die for our sins. Without him he would have nothing, because of him I have an amazing family and I can live my life knowing that one day I will spend eternal life in heaven. On April 1, 2018 my granny spoke the service at church and I have to say it was a powerful one. She gave a message that we don't always think of when we celebrate Easter Sunday. Today I want to share with y'all that message because I believe that everyone should remember the real reason we celebrate on this Sunday. "Jesus loves you guys so much and he knows its been told to you so many times, but it just hasn't reached the root of your heart"-Granny. Just about two-thousand years ago our savior Jesus Christ was crucified but it wasn't just an ordinary crucifixion. Jesus Christ was mutilated. (Mutilated: inflict, a violent, and disfiguring injury) John 19:1 says "Just before his crucifixion Jesus was scourged by the romans". The Bible does not directly indicate how many lashes Jesus received. Deuteronomy 25:3 state that a criminal should not receive more than forty lashes. In order to avoid accidently breaking this command, the Jews would only give criminals thirty-nine lashes. Its hard to imagine the level of hatred necessary to consign an innocent man to such fate. Jesus was an innocent. Worse, the man they sent to be flogged and crucified was the Son of God. We hear and refer to the story of Jesus death so often that sometimes we fail to stop and think about how evil he was treated by those he came to save. Jesus chose to take our punishment, The Father chose to send Jesus to the cross. They conspired to save all who would believe. "Jesus wants to show us by the terrible wounds that where given to him, the seriousness of our SIN and the depth of his LOVE."- Granny. It all started in The Garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus fought extreme anxiety. He prayed alone for hours while his apostle's slept near by, he knew what was going to happen to him. The whip the Romans used on Jesus was called The Cat of Nine Tails, this whip had nine ropes attached. 40 lashes * 9 ropes = 360 times. Jesus was whipped 360 times for nothing, simply because Jesus was claiming to be the Son of the King, as he was. The Crown that Jesus wore was no ordinary crown but a crown made of thorns. As the soldiers struck Jesus on his head with reeds, He would have felt excruciating pain across his face and deep into his ears, much like sensations from a hot poker or electric shock. These pains would have been felt all the way to Calvary and while on the Cross. By the time He arrived at Calvary, Jesus was in exquisite pain, struggling to breathe and suffering with blood and fluid loss. One of the executioners threw him to the ground and then made him lie on his back. One executioner pressed down in His chest, another held Him down by His legs, while the third soldier stretched His arms one at a time and nailed His hands with 7inch nails. Then they grabbed Jesus by the waist, getting him to his feet and bent his legs until his feet were flushed to the cross and with a 9inch nail, nailed his feet. What is clear is that our Lord suffered tremendously for many hours and then died, lonely excruciating death. We must remember that he did this willingly, mercifully, and out of an unimaginable love for us. He took all of this so that YOU could live. "He is ALIVE, He holds nothing against us still He wants to give us more than what we deserve. His Forgiveness and Eternal Life."-Granny
I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter Sunday and remembers what its all truly about. Thanks SO much for reading todays post. I cant wait to keep in touch!
XOXO-Katherine
