Cinco de Mayo

Hola Amigos! Happy FriYAY! Hope everyone has had an amazing week, I feel like it just flew by. Seemed like there was so much I had to get done this week and then bam its Friday. Just remember better days are coming, they are called Saturday and Sunday! This weekend I will be spending time in my home town, celebrating and hanging out with the family. Yesterday evening my Aunt gave birth to her first baby girl and I have to say I am so ready to meet her and take a million pictures. Today I am excited to share with y'all the cutest top just in time for Cinco de Mayo weekend.

How fun is this multi-colored, off shoulder top? I always love when an entertaining holiday comes around it makes it that much more fun shopping for an outfit. This top is under $20 and is perfect for any summer event. I'm loving all the vibrant colored stripes, the fact that its flowy and lightweight! I would say this top is true to size, I am wearing my normal size small.
Pictured above is my BFF/Roomie, She's usually the one taking my pictures for me but this week I wanted to do something a little special and have a fun shoot with her in it. That it definitely was, we had such a great time trying to pose each other and act like we know what we are doing! lol Next week is her 22nd Birthday and I can't wait to celebrate.
In honor of celebrating the Cinco de Mayo holiday, I want to share with y'all one of my go to Mexican drinks. An ice cold Michelada "Red Beer". If you're a fan of savory, spicy and tart at the same time, this cool refreshment will unquestionably be one of your new favorites.
MICHELADA RECIPE:
Ingredients
  • Mexican lager beer (Modelo is my favorite)
  • Clamato (tomato juice) or Zing-Zang
  • 3-4 splashes hot sauce, more or less to taste
  • 2 splashes of Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 splashes of Maggi sauce (or soy sauce)
  • Juice of one lime
  • Tajín seasoning (or salt) for the rim
Instructions
  • Take about a tablespoon of Tajín (or salt) and sprinkle it on a small plate. Rub a slice of lime around the rim of the glass and then press the rim in the Tajín to salt the rim.
  • Fill the glass about ¼ to ⅓ with the Clamato juice. Add the hot sauce, the lime juice, the Worcestershire sauce, and the soy sauce. If you used Tajín to salt the rim, pour any excess from the plate into the glass.\
  • Fill the rest with cold beer.
  • Garnish with a slice of lime and enjoy!

So glad you stopped by today! I'll be sending all the positive vibes your way and hoping that you get to get your fiesta on this weekend!
XOXO- Katherine

Engagment Story

Calvin and I landed in San Diego, California Wednesday evening and headed straight to our destination in La Jolla, a small tourist town right outside of San Diego. I was so ready to go down to the beach and relax but Calvin insisted that we get ready for dinner and then go to the beach. I asked Calvin what should I wear something casual or dressy he says he’s going to dress casual so I’m thinking dinner is nothing fancy and we are just going to go down to the beach and watch the sunset before dinner. We get down to the “spot” right off the La Jolla cove, this view is amazing!! I see stairs and immediately want to go down but Calvin insisted again that we should go where there is less people, so he starts walking towards people?? Half way to the bridge where he wants to go he then stops and says wait lets go back so there we go turning around going down to the same stairs I had originally said lets go to. Little did I know that he was trying to figure out the spot the p...

Grateful for Twenty-Three

Good Morning Loves! Today's my BIRTHDAY, I am turning 23 years old the oldest I've ever been! Seem like now-a-days the years just keep going by faster, but I am thankful to have lived another one. This morning I am celebrating with my family and three banana pancakes, from the best granny. To continue the celebration Calvin and I are headed to San Antonio this weekend. I am so excited to have a fulfilled weekend with him doing some of my favorite things. Thursday we plan on going out on the town for a little dancing, Friday we are floating the river, and Saturday calls for a relaxing spa day.  This shoot has to be one of my favorites, we took these pictures at a local Ice Cream Shop Holly Hops. What's a better way to celebrate your birthday than with some cake batter ice cream?! SOO DELICIOUS! Todays outfit is so fun and bright. Who else loves wearing yellow in the summer? Brings out your tan, even if you don't have one. LOL Hoping to add some color to me t...

The Comparison Trap

Good Morning and Happy Labor Day! Holy cow can you believe it’s already September and fall and Christmas are just around thing corner! It honestly makes me so excited I love the holidays and getting to decorate the house for the season.   So for the past few weeks I have been posting a Motivation Monday quote on my Instagram story, a little something for you to look at throughout the week and remind yourself to keep going and being positive. Life is not always easy but sometimes all you need is a little reminder for you to realize how blessed you are and be thankful for what you have around you. Yesterday I woke up and was determined to watch church, so I googled church online and the first one that popped up was Life.Church. It was 9:30 and church started at 10, perfect timing. The service was so good and uplifting for me. So today I’m going to share with you that exact message that God sent to me.  The Comparison Trap Being Content with your l...
